Devine Millimet Attorney, Tabitha Croscut, Appears Before Senate Small Business Committee

On Wednesday, January 24th, the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Chaired by Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), held a hearing titled “Succession Planning: Opportunities to Build Wealth and Keep Jobs in Local Communities”.

Devine Millimet attorney, Tabitha Croscut, was asked to be a witness and provide testimony at the hearing. Devine Millimet’s President, Anu Mullikin, reported internally that "Tabitha was one of four [witnesses] on a panel, and she brilliantly testified to the benefits of small business owners considering an ESOP for their transition, and pointed out to the Committee the current speed bumps and road blocks limiting or even preventing business owners from exploring this strategy, which in many cases is a win-win for the owner, the employees of the company and the community in which the business operates. She then responded to questions from several Senators clearly, concisely, with conviction and with a little humor.”

After two decades of working with small businesses, Tabitha was honored to have the opportunity to share with the Senate Committee local success stories and provide her observations on how the Committee can help improve business owner awareness of succession planning options, specifically the utility of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Mullikan indicated “Devine Millimet serves many of New Hampshire’s small businesses and we are proud of Tabitha’s involvement in shining a light on this important transition option for business owners."
