Southern New Hampshire Services is the non-profit Community Action Agency serving residents of Hillsborough County, NH. Its mission is to assist low-income clients to secure and retain meaningful employment; to attain an adequate education; to make better use of available income; to ameliorate the causes of poverty in the region; to meet urgent and immediate individual and family needs including health, nutrition, housing and employment-related assistance; and to address barriers to self-sufficiency. Programs include Child Care, Head Start/Early Head Start, Women Infants Children Supplemental Nutrition, Commodity Foods, Volunteers, Info-Bank, Emergency Energy Assistance, NH Employment, Workforce Development and the Economic Opportunity Center.
