This month we welcome Deputy Chief Brian Gover-Cambridge Fire to speak about the 2016 10-alarm fire in Cambridge, MA. He is also responsible for the Emergency Preparedness and Coordination for Cambridge. We will be having small group discussion
What is Nashua VOAD?
Nashua VOAD is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan membership organization that serves as the forum where organizations share knowledge and resources throughout the disaster cycle—preparation, response, recovery and mitigation—to help Nashua prepare for and recover from disasters.
Previously the group was called Nashua Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD). In an effort to unify branding of this local initiative with the State and National VOAD, we are utilizing the common term of VOAD. Combined with the Nashua Citizen Corps Council, we hope that the quarterly meeting of this group will help strengthen long term recovery processes, local disaster volunteer and donations management, and individual, family, and business preparedness programs.
Who should join Nashua VOAD?
Individuals from non-profits, faith-based organizations, businesses, and government who participate in disaster preparedness, response, or recovery should attend the Nashua VOAD meeting.
