Designing Benefits that Care for, Attract, and Retain Talent

Designing Benefits that Care for, Attract, and Retain Talent

The wants, needs, and expectations of employees have changed drastically, even just in the last few years. When it comes to benefits, the new generation of employees wants markedly different things than previous employee populations. Gone are the days where a robust health plan, weeks of PTO, and a 401K plan with an ungodly match would help your business retain employees. Employees now want benefits that speak to respect, support of their health and mental wellness, more time for family life, a clear career path, and consistent feedback with rewards. Things that were once not considered to be employee benefits, now must be viewed as such. When employees’ views on which benefits are important to them are redefined so quickly, it can seem hard for businesses to adapt. Many businesses also fear that the changes will be costly and difficult. However, this adaptation is easier and less costly than one might think. We will discuss simple, affordable, and outside-the-box employee benefits that will satisfy the new generation of employees. These “new” benefits will help to keep your employees happy and motivated, and that may even assist in improving your retention rate.
